The church discourages members to not read anti-Mormon books because it damages testimonies. 25 years ago I secretely read those books and studied myself right out of the church. I loved the people in it and the security of belonging, but found out we were not taught the true history and doctrine, but a glossed over, "feel good” testimony. There’s so many errors, twisted histories, false prophecies and changed doctrines, it’s amazing Joseph Smith even got the church organized.

Mormons need to ask themselves why do they discourage anti-Mormon materials. If the church is true like we testified, "I know the church is true beyond a shadow of a doubt", then it should allow members, even encourage folks, to study all that they can. They can’t because common sense, thinking people searching for truth realize the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is not true.

They need to ask questions like, why is the Book of Abraham in the Pearl of Great Price really just pagan funeral writings, originals found in the Metropolitan Museum, not burned up in the Chicago fire? How did Joseph Smith get scripture from one symbol that has nothing to do with Abraham?

Why hide the golden plates if he could’ve just put his face in a hat and be inspired to write the Book of Mormon? Why be so secretive about being the only one to see the gold plates while "translating"?

Why so much copying of Isaiah, over 19 chapters, into the Book of Mormon in Elizabethan which wasn’t spoken until hundreds of years later and wouldn’t have been written on the Brass Plates? http://mit.irr.org/book-of-mormon-and-bible

I had a hundred more questions and needed to know the truth of what I really believed.  Quietly sweeping them under the rug made it pretty lumpy. I’m thankful I realized Christ is the answer not a church organization

@ 2:30 the gentleman from Liverpool says "it really hasn’t changed much".
I agree. The LDS church still attempts to cover up and spin it’s doctrine.
I suggest he read cesletter.com. He’ll find that there really has been new information that hasn’t been published or discussed before by LDS Inc.

He doesn’t seem to realize that if it weren’t for the so-called "ANTI"-Mormons, the church would still be practicing polygamy, marrying little girls and other men’s wives, degrading women (they’re still doing that but not as bad these days), discriminating against blacks and homosexuals and lying about their doctrine.
    Oh well!

22:00 "If they think we’ll move on these issues, they do not know us. NEVER will we budge on these fundamental things. If they think we will, they know very little about us. AMEN to that." However, Brigham Young once said "the Lord told Cain that he should not receive the blessings of the preisthood nor his seed, until the last of the posterity of Able had received the preisthood, until the redemtion of the earth." (spelling in original) He also said that "If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so." So, Mr. Packer, never say NEVER in the church.

Lies stacked upon lies those are the building blocks of the Mormon church

Joseph Smith promised the women and their families eternal salvation and exaltation if they would marry him. The only person that I am aware of that can guarantee salvation is the Savior Himself.

It’s the end of the Mormon cult as we know it. Watch for the first signs: Mormon owned businesses shutting down, beginning with their bookstores. In the coming months/years, wards and Mormon properties sold. Eventually the temples, closing first are the temples in other countries. Utah temples will be the last remnant.

Turns out Joseph was a money grubber, obsessed with treasure and money. Isn’t it ironic that he claims to be a prophet for God and was given plates of gold?
